Treatments
There are various methods of applications for the medicines to act upon the eye and the body. The major among them are Kashayadhara, Nasya, Tarpana, Putapaka, Pichu, Shashtika sweda, Talam, Shirodhara, Shirovasti and Yakrut seva.
Kashayadhara
Measured dropping of herbal decoction added with honey to the eyes from a specific height for a specific period is called Kashayadhara.
Nasya
Instilling medicated oil by drops into both nostrill is known as Nasya.
Pichu
Placing cotton or cotton cloth soaked in medicated oil over the centre of head (Bregma) for a specific period is called Pichu.
Shashtika sweda
Massaging with a poultice made with herbal milk decoction paste over the closed eyes for a prescribed time and under controlled pressure is called Shashtika sweda.
Shirovasti
This is one of the major therapies in Ayurveda, carried out in cases of Neurological eye disorders, Head ache, Thyroid dysfunction and many other problems related with pituitary gland.

Dr.Gokulan has participated in making of the first feature film on Ayurveda "Ayurveda ,the art of being" is released globally a year ago. The same was previewed in the last International Film Festival at Mumbai.
